Oberdorfer Hired at Troy Chamber and Troy Development Council
TROY, Ohio — The Troy Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) and Troy Development Council (TDC) are pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Oberdorfer as President of the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce and Chief Executive Officer of the Troy Development Council. Oberdorfer will begin his new role on July 6, 2026.
Oberdorfer recently retired as City Manager for the City of Piqua, where he oversaw a multi-million-dollar operating budget and led a full-service municipal organization with approximately 200 employees. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in local government administration, economic development, strategic planning, and public-private partnerships.
Prior to his role in Piqua, Oberdorfer held senior leadership positions in Charlottesville, Virginia, Green, Ohio, and with the State of Ohio. His extensive experience includes guiding organizational transformation, strengthening community engagement, and advancing economic growth initiatives. He is widely recognized for his collaborative leadership style, ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders, and commitment to positioning communities for long-term success.
“Paul's proven leadership, deep understanding of economic development, and commitment to community collaboration make him uniquely qualified to lead our organizations into the future,” said Ben Poeppelman, Chair of the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. “His experience working across government, business, and community sectors will be a tremendous asset to our members and the broader Troy community.”
Annette Ryan-Baker, President of the Troy Development Council Board of Directors, echoed that enthusiasm.
“Paul has spent his career helping communities grow and thrive,” Ryan-Baker said. “His strategic vision, economic development expertise, and track record of building strong partnerships align perfectly with the mission of the Troy Development Council. Oberdorfer's career has included extensive collaboration with business leaders, community organizations, and economic development partners, providing him with a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing growing communities.
As TACC President and TDC CEO, Oberdorfer will lead the strategic direction of both organizations, working closely with business leaders, community partners, elected officials, and stakeholders to advance economic opportunity and strengthen the Troy area.
