TROY, Ohio — The Troy Area Chamber of Commerce and the Troy Development Council have announced the appointment of Michael Brendel as Interim President of the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce and Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Troy Development Council, effective March 2. 

Brendel will serve in a dual leadership role on a short-term basis to provide organizational oversight and continuity while the boards of directors conduct a comprehensive search for a permanent President and CEO. In addition to overseeing the strategic vision of both organizations, he will assist the boards with recruitment and the transition process to ensure continued alignment with each organization’s strategic priorities. 

Brendel previously served as President of Kettering Health Troy, where he led hospital operations and community health initiatives, working closely with business, civic, and nonprofit partners throughout the region. His leadership experience and longstanding relationships within the Troy community position him well to guide both organizations during this transitional period. 

The Troy Area Chamber of Commerce and the Troy Development Council remain focused on advancing economic vitality, supporting local businesses, and strengthening community partnerships. The boards of both organizations are confident that Brendel’s experience and steady leadership will provide continuity and support as they move through this transition and continue their mission-driven work on behalf of the Troy community.
