COMMUNITY EVENT: presented by Tipp City Area Arts Council May 6, 2023 7:30 PM McGuffey Lane is a central Ohio rock band who started their succssful career in the college town of Athens, OH in the 1970s. Orginally, founding members Steve George Reis and Terry Efaw played gigs in Athens and the surrounding area under their orignal name 'Scotch and Soda.' When they added Bobby Gene McNelley, they renamed themselves McGuffey Lane, after the street where Steve lived throughout his childhood. McGuffey Lane was not only the iconic house band for years for Ohio venues such as The Castle and Zachariah’s Red Eye Saloon, but they have also toured the country with bands including the Allman Brothers, Charlie Daniels, The Judds, and The Marshall Tucker Band.
