Downtown Troy will be filled with fun as Troy Main Street hosts August’s First Friday Event: Nonprofit Game Night on Friday, August 5th from 5:30-8:00 PM. This family-friendly event features games of all kinds throughout the downtown and inside businesses and is free to the public.
“We are really excited to partner with local nonprofit organizations for this event,” said Andrea Keller, Executive Director of Troy Main Street. “There will be so many opportunities to play games, learn about local nonprofit organizations, and explore our wonderful downtown businesses, that you’ll want to spend the entire evening downtown.”
Games will be available for all ages and will include Giant Jenga hosted by Partners In Hope, Giant Connect Four hosted by the Miami County Animal Shelter, a dunk tank hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Troy, Carnival Games hosted by CASA/GAL of Miami County, and so much more! In addition to nonprofits hosting games, several of our downtown businesses will have games available as well. Play Pin the Mustache on the Barber at CK Barbershop and Grooming Co, try to throw a frisbee through a wreath at Trojan Florist & Gifts for a percentage off your purchase, play an assortment of games with Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop including Plinko or head to Moeller Brew Barn for large outdoor yard games.
Several of our downtown businesses will be partnering with local nonprofits to raise money. Bakehouse Bread & Cookie Company will be hosting a BBQ on the sidewalk in front of their store and all proceeds will benefit Troy Main Street. The BBQ will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until the First Friday event concludes at 8:00 PM. Mojos Bar & Grille will have a special cocktail available that evening and proceeds from the cocktail will benefit the Miami County Animal Shelter. Trojan Florist & Gifts will be having a wreath sale on their porch to benefit Troy Community Works. When you make a purchase with Ivy Court that evening, you will get to spin a wheel which will decide what percentage of your purchase will be donated to Pink Ribbon Girls.
