TROY, OH – “Get your Green On,” and join the St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Troy, Ohio! Join more than 200 runners for the eleventh annual St. Patrick Catholic School Alumni & Friends Shamrock Shuffle 5K on Saturday, March 15, 2025. 

The 5K will begin at the Troy Memorial Stadium at 9:30 AM, registration as early as 8:15 AM. This year, pre-registered participants can pick up their race shirts and packets on Friday, March 14, 4:00–6:00 PM at the stadium. Register at www.cantstoprunningco.com by March 1 to make the t-shirt cut-off due date. 

Stan Bender was a founding member of the Alumni & Friends committee. He took an active role in organizing and launching the organization’s first races that provide funds for St. Patrick Catholic School families to have further access to a Catholic education. Our dear friend Stan lost his battle to ALS on December 21, 2024. With fondness, his fellow committee members have chosen to rename the race to honor the memory and lasting efforts of Stan to the “The Stan Bender Memorial Shamrock Shuffle.”

“This annual race, and Kegs & Eggs Award Breakfast that follows it, tends to draw more than 250 participants. It’s now fitting that Stan, who was so instrumental in building this organization, be part of its growing legacy,” says Chuck Karnehm, dear friend, and committee leader of the organization. 

Following the race, participants will be routed to the St. Patrick Church undercroft (basement) at 409 E. Main Street, Troy, for a celebration including door prizes, awards, and the much anticipated, Kegs & Eggs breakfast (beer served to 21 years and older). Breakfast for non-racers is $5. As always, the St. Patrick’s Softball Team will be cooking breakfast. Rankings will be tracked and announced by Can’t Stop Running, and awards will be distributed to the top three in each age/gender category and overall. 

Race proceeds support the St. Patrick Catholic School Alumni & Friends Fund, which offsets students’ tuition fees and provides valuable classroom equipment and resources. Last year, 13 scholarships were awarded by the committee to St. Patrick School families. Our sponsors have loyally supported this fun race.
