Made In Miami County
Tuesday, September 24, 2024 (8:00 AM - 3:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
The Troy Area Chamber of Commerce and the Troy Development Council are pleased to announce the return of our student career engagement event this September…” Made in Miami County”. This event was last held in 2019 and was a great success.
Your business is invited to set up a space for hands on learning at this year’s “Made in Miami County’’ event. The event is designed to showcase the things made in Miami County and spark interest in local careers.
This program is in partnership with the Miami County Educational Service Center Business Advisory Council. All nine of the Miami County school districts have been invited to participate. We estimate that we will see 500+ eighth graders at the event.
The focus is on eighth-grade students, as they are of an age where they can understand the information shared by local employers, and it is before they start planning their coursework for high school. The more we expose young people to local companies, the more likely they will choose a Miami County company for future employment.
“Made in Miami County” is a hands-on learning opportunity designed to connect students to local companies and spark interest in careers. All participating companies are encouraged to provide an engaging activity for the students. A list of activities will be forwarded to registrants.
When/Where:
