Description
The Iron Horse Music Fest returns on Saturday, September 6, 2025, bringing a full day of live music, family activities, and community spirit to the grounds of VFW Post 5436 in Troy. The event is free and open to the public, offering residents of all ages a chance to gather in celebration of service, local pride, and connection. The festival begins at noon with music running continuously into the evening. The lineup features six regional acts, including Sugar Grove (12–1 p.m.), Next In Line (1–3 p.m.), Dean Neal (3–5 p.m.), Bootleg Band (5–7 p.m.), Steven “Crash” Worley (7–9 p.m.), and Desert Star (9–11 p.m.). In addition to the music, the event includes children’s games, activities, raffles, food vendors, and the opportunity to explore the VFW Post itself. Meal options include a $5 kids’ meal with a hot dog, chips, cookie, and juice box, and a $10 adult meal with pulled pork, baked beans, and a cookie. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets. Alcohol, spirits, soda & water will be available for purchase. No outside alcohol is permitted, and all purchases are cash only, with an ATM available on site. The Iron Horse Music Fest is designed not only to entertain but also to strengthen community bonds and highlight the mission of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Organizers hope to foster greater public awareness of veteran issues while offering a day of fun, food, and music for the whole family.
