Responsibilities:

  • Support the Makino FMS and the turning machining areas, using root cause analysis to identify and eliminate production problems.
  • Metrics for this support are process stability, quality levels (Capability, Cp/Cpk, PFMEA, etc.)
  • Review engineering prints for assigned machines, select appropriate tooling, create programs for CNC machine tools, while achieving quality and cost targets.
  • Create and maintain CNC programs, set up sheets and tool lists
  • Work with tooling suppliers to review existing operations to improve quality and cost profiles
  • Team member for New Product Introduction with input to Design Reviews, Cost Estimates, Prototype production, Process Development and Production Launch as required
  • Implementation and Project Management of new processes, including equipment procurement, installation, process capability prove-out, training, process documentation and production start up
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control and process capability
  • Gibbs CAM for NC programming and Autocad drafting skills for plant layout
  • Develop reports, project briefings, and management presentations.

 

Qualifications:

  • 8-15 years related experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Must have valid driving privileges

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must demonstrate good communication skills amongst shop floor, support staff, and plant leadership. 
  • Relationship building and leadership is critical to this position.
  • Must be able to lead and execute small teams and projects.
  • Requires good organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to train others; also mentor Process Technicians and others.
  • Minimum Four-year technical degree with minimum of two years relevant experience, two-year degree with five years relevant experience.
